Flood Update

The area behind the synagogue closest to Ralston Creek has been sandbagged. Over three dozen volunteers helped complete this task. Nechama: A Jewish Response To Disaster came with less than 24 hours notice to help out and after finishing at Agudas Achim helped out in other areas of Iowa City.All the things that were downstairs have been moved to the upper level. Until we are assured there is no more danger of flooding we will leave the sandbags and not start putting items back in the basement.

Congreation Gates of Prayer in Metairie, LA (near New Orleans) has made available gift cards to Loews for people who have been evacutated and need help in repairs. If you are in need of one or more let me know.

Both the Reform and Conservative movements have started funds to aid in rebuilding.
